The sixth grade chorus meets four out of the six days of the scheduled rotation. The sixth graders will be singing a variety of different pieces of music and will be performing at two concerts this year. The first concert will be held on December 15th, and the second will be held at the beginning of May. Both of these concerts will be held at 7PM in the Lewis Mills auditorium and are free of charge.

We will be working on the following items in chorus:

*Learning and practicing good posture
*Learning to appreciate a variety of styles of music
*Developing the proper singing technique
*Basic rhythmic reading
*Basic music fundamentals

The grading policy for this course is as follows:

*Class Performance- 35%
*Etiquette- 35%
*Classwork- 10%
*Concert Grade (Attendance and performance)- 20%

Concerts are a very important part of the chorus experience because it showcases all of the work the students have been doing in the months leading up to it. Therefore, attendance is mandatory at these events.
