**Important information regarding the Har-Bur "SWITCHERS" Program for the school year 2017/18**


The link below provides a detailed description and explanation of the program. After-school meetings/rehearsals will begin in early October.

*Please Read*
This year poses an extremely difficult challenge with regard to our present inventory. Due to the success of the program in prior years (including current use by those students) the type and number of school-owned instruments is extremely limited. Only a handful of students will be able to work on a new low wind or brass instruments this fall. Students will be selected on the basis of interest and final decisions will be determined based upon recommendations from the director(s)

The following are links to important documents for those students preparing to audition for this year's regional festival.  These forms are presently being distributed, to students, during the after-school rehearsals.  One, very important change to last year's process is that the fee to participate has, once again, increased.  The fee for this year's audition process is now $15.00 (raised from last year's $12.00).  Please be aware of details with regard to specific dates and deadlines:

AMERICAN SCHOOL BAND DIRECTOR'S ASSOCIATION
GRADE 8 HONORS BAND DAY

Over sixty of Har-Bur Middle School's Grade 8 instrumental students have been invited to participate in this one-day event.  All students that signed up, from the beginning of the year, have been accepted.  This year's festival is being held at Torrington Middle School.  Students will be in rehearsals/performance from 10:00 AM until approximately 12:30 PM and will return to Har-Bur MS no later than 2:00 PM.  Should you have specific questions regarding this event please feel free to contact me at any time.  The following are links to important, related paperwork.  Please be aware of details with regard to specific dates and deadlines:
