HBMS Student wins MLK, Jr. Day Poster Contest
"Crystal Sor, a sixth-grade student at Har-Bur, was recently recognized for taking first place in a Martin Luther King Day poster contest put on by the UCONN African American Cultural Center. Crystal beat out over 120 entries from around the state, and was specially honored at the Martin Luther King Day of Observance held at the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts in Storrs, CT.
The Day of Observance celebration at UCONN showcased Crystals winning poster, and also offered music and speakers that reflected on the works and teachings of Dr. King. Crystal is pictured with her very proud Principal, Mr. Smith, and with her equally proud social studies teacher, Mr. deManbey."
