Hello My Name Is...
<Leanne Bemis>
I have been teaching Family and Consumer Science for thirteen years. This is my tenth year teaching at Har-Bur Middle School. I teach 6th grade Nutrition, 7th grade Foods and 8th grade Human Growth and Development. I also coach Cross Country, Cheerleading and Track and Field for the Middle School. Prior to teaching, I worked as a Manager in the Media field for fourteen years.
I have a B.S. degree in Hospitality Management from Johnson and Wales University and a M.A. degree in Reading and Language Arts from Saint Joseph's College.
I have two children, Sam and Olivia. Sam is a freshman at UCONN. Olivia is a senior and is beginning the process of college applications.
My dog Callie, and my cats Louie and Mia don't have a whole lot to think about! Except of course when it's time to eat, play and sleep!
Some of the things that I love to do for myself are read, cook, and RUN RUN RUN early in the morning!!!
I love teaching at Har-Bur! I have felt a connection to this school since the beginning! I am fortunate to be teaching the wonderful students in Region 10!
